Affiliate disclosure
Some links on MadCool Stuff pay us if you buy. Here is which ones, how much it matters, and what stops it bending a review.

The disclosure
MadCool Stuff participates in affiliate programs. If you click a product link and buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This is made under the United States Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements and testimonials, 16 CFR Part 255.
Which links
Affiliate links are marked where they appear. A link inside the body of an article that is not marked is a plain link and pays us nothing. We do not put affiliate links in benchmark tables or in the summary verdict of a review.
What we do not do
- We do not take payment for a review or for a score. No manufacturer has ever paid us to cover a product or to reach a conclusion about one.
- We do not let a commission rate decide what gets recommended. Plenty of the hardware we recommend pays us nothing at all.
- We do not publish sponsored posts dressed as editorial. If anything is ever sponsored it will say so at the top, in the same size type as the headline.
Review hardware
Most hardware we test is bought at retail. Where a manufacturer lends or supplies a unit, the review says so plainly and says whether it went back.
Why you should still read us sceptically
Disclosure is not the same as immunity. Knowing that a commission exists should change how you read any recommendation, including ours. Check the numbers, and prefer the pieces where we show how we measured.
